608 Jiu Jitsu

    Our Story

A welcoming place to learn high-quality jiu jitsu without ego or intimidation.

    Built on Quality and Community

608 Jiu Jitsu was founded in 2023 to give people in Cross Plains, Middleton, and the surrounding communities a welcoming place to learn high-quality jiu jitsu without ego or intimidation.

Our school is built around quality instruction, consistent training, and teammates who help each other improve. Some members train to compete, some train for fitness, and some just want a challenging hobby that keeps them coming back.

Whatever brings you in, you'll find a supportive room where beginners are coached with patience, experienced students are pushed to grow, and progress is built one class at a time.

    Head Instructor & Founder

    Joshua Archiquette

Joshua Archiquette began training jiu jitsu in 2017 and quickly developed a passion for its unique combination of problem-solving, technical skill, and continuous learning. After beginning to coach in 2021, he discovered that helping others improve was just as rewarding as improving his own game.

In 2023, Joshua founded 608 Jiu Jitsu with a clear vision: create a welcoming academy where beginners feel comfortable, experienced students continue to grow, and every member receives high-quality instruction. In 2025, he earned his black belt under Wade Barden of Stronghold Jiu Jitsu, marking another milestone in a journey that continues every time he steps onto the mats.

As an instructor, Joshua believes great coaching is about more than demonstrating techniques. It's about creating an environment where students enjoy training, build confidence, solve problems, and develop skills that last a lifetime. Whether your goal is competition, fitness, or simply learning something challenging and rewarding, his goal is to help you become a little better every time you train.
